Follow that bus to a new career

21/01/2019

A recruitment campaign by Newcastle Hospitals is hitting the road to promote the Trust as an employer of choice.

The year-long campaign includes a large advertisement on the back of a Stagecoach service bus, travelling on routes throughout the city and the surrounding area.

It highlights the range of opportunities within the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, from nurses to doctors, healthcare assistants to occupational therapists, IT professional to project managers, as well as estates and facilities roles such as joiners, painters, electricians and grounds keepers.

The campaign will utilise various media across the region over the coming 12 months and will feature proud staff throughout to highlight the diversity of the organisation and its workforce.

This follows the launch of a dedicated careers website - careers.nuth.nhs.uk - back in October 2018, which is a one stop shop for people looking for a new career, development opportunity or to find out more about working for the Trust.

The website features role information, case studies and vacancies, as well as a section focused on the benefits of working for Newcastle Hospitals. As part of the wider offering, the Trust also promotes its volunteer service, as well as opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships and project choice.

Neil Picton, Head of Workforce Engagement and Information, said: “We wanted to think creatively about how we could engage with the region and highlight the variety of different roles available here at Newcastle Hospitals.

“Our staff are proud to work for the Trust and therefore it was important to us that we featured our own staff in the imagery, so that it was authentic and conveyed our pride. We are looking forward to the year ahead and welcoming all those who join us in 2019.”

Dawn Goodfellow, who is featured on the bus wrap, is a Senior Sister based in Children’s Out-Patients at the Freeman Hospital. She said: “I love the variety I get at work; no two days are ever the same. I am proud to be representing the Trust across the region.”
