Elle | Widening Participation Project Coordinator

Education, Workforce Development – Apprenticeship

"Bringing out the best in others is a real passion for me - exploring the best possible career opportunities for everyone by supporting and developing their own individual needs for their career and education."

I have been working in education for 15 years, most of this has been supporting individuals with apprenticeships, pre-employment guidance, and work experience.

As Widening Participation Project Coordinator, I raise awareness of career opportunities within the NHS through workshops and working closely with local schools and colleges.

I also support existing staff looking for a career change or a promotion within their directorate and individuals wanting to join the NHS for the first time.

What do you love about your job?

Bringing out the best in others is a real passion for me - exploring the best possible career opportunities for everyone by supporting and developing their own individual needs for their career and education.

I thrive in helping others achieve their goals but also in ensuring people from underrepresented groups and communities are aware of the opportunities available within the NHS. I’m passionate about ensuring equal opportunities for all.

What has been your proudest moment so far?

Seeing individuals flourish in their dream role within Newcastle Hospitals. This could be an existing staff member completely changing their career, or someone wanting to work within the NHS for the very first time.

Getting that email or phone call to say they got the role is the absolute best feeling ever.
